A group of children from the Xinjiang Chanson de Montagne Uygur Ethnic Choir performed on the stage of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing on Aug. 7. They sang a folk song and performed dances with members from the Xinjiang “Inheritor” Twelve Muqam Art Group and also sang with the Shenzhen Chanson de Montagne Children’s Choir, leaving audiences deeply impressed.

The concert they took part in, named “Multiethnic Children’s Choir in Concert,”was organized by the Shenzhen Green Pine Foundation and Shenzhen Concert Hall and as a part of the August NCPA Chorus Festival. Performers from ethnic groups such as Wa, Naxi and Tibetan also joined in this event.

Also staged at Shenzhen Grand Theater in May this year, the Xinjiang Chanson de Montagne Uygur Ethnic Choir was set up at the 18th Primary School in Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2012. The school is the first school built under the project of Shenzhen aiding Kashgar.
