Philharmonix, a seven-member chamber music ensemble, promises to redefine how classical Western music entertains audiences by blending jazz, rock, pop and other elements into it Saturday night at Shenzhen Concert Hall.

Clarinetist Daniel Ottensamer, double bass player Ödön Rácz and violist Thilo Fechner have worked with the Vienna Philharmonic, while violinist Noah Bendix-Balgley and cellist Stephan Koncz were previous members of the Berlin Philharmonic. The orchestra also has violinist Sebastian Gürtler and pianist Christoph Traxler on the team.

Saturday’s program will include “Beethoven Swings,” “Carnival,”“The Lark” and “New Renditions of Sarasate Dances” composed by Koncz, renditions of Béla Bartók’s “For Children,” “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen, “Yesterday” by the Beatles, as well as a few pieces written by Gürtler.
