Shajing's Hualin-style Mantis Fist

Writer: Liu Xudong  |  Editor: Liu Minxia  |  From:   |  Updated: 2023-10-13

The Hualin-style Mantis Fist’s roots can be traced back to the early 20th century when Li Kunshan, from East China’s Shandong Province, introduced it to Shajing in Shenzhen. This lineage now spans over a century.

In 1936, a villager in Shajing named Xian Yingdeng journeyed to Hong Kong to become a disciple of Li, thus becoming the second-generation torchbearer. Xian Yingdeng’s second son, Xian Runzhang, immersed himself in martial arts from a young age and is now recognized as the third-generation inheritor of this intangible legacy.
