You Yang holds solo exhibition at Dafen Intl. Art Tribe

The first solo exhibition by ’80s pop artist You Yang is being presented at the Dafen International Art Tribe in Longgang District.

Themed “Quiet Roar • Light of Awakening,” the exhibition aims to engage in in-depth communication with young people who are seeking to attain success in Shenzhen, interpreting traditional Oriental culture, and bringing the audience an immersive visual and spiritual feast.

You’s works strive for visual impact and creativity. His previous solo exhibition in Shanghai was highly praised and sought after by young people. The Shenzhen exhibition continues his artistic form, conveying the younger generation’s thoughts and interpretations of traditional culture.

The exhibition showcases dozens of works created by You, including flat art, sculptures, photographs, and decorative works in various art forms. The artist cleverly combines elements of pop art with traditional culture, forming a unique artistic style.

“I hope to communicate with more audiences through this exhibition and let them experience the unique charm of pop art and traditional culture. I hope that my works can inspire young people striving for success in Shenzhen,” You said in an interview.

Wu Yujian, a representative of the People’s Congress of Longgang District and a senior architect, believes that “this exhibition is not only for young people in Shenzhen but also for everyone to find a visual feast they love. Even if we are no longer young, we can regain the power of youth through You Yang’s works.”

Yang Mingjun, one of the curators of the exhibition and curator of the Dafen International Art Tribe, said: “You Yang’s unique artistic style and profound insights have brought new vitality to contemporary cultural and artistic fields. Especially in the fusion of commerce and art, it has injected new elements into the cultural and artistic atmosphere of Shenzhen.”
