China Southern to resume two international routes

China Southern Airlines Shenzhen announced Monday that it will resume two international routes, namely from Shenzhen to Seoul and Singapore, in the upcoming winter and spring travel season.

Starting from Nov. 23, the flight to Seoul will operate daily, departing from Shenzhen at 8:25 a.m. and arriving in Seoul at 1:10 p.m.

The flight to Singapore will resume on the same date, departing from Shenzhen at 12:10 p.m. and arriving in Singapore at 4:20 p.m.

The resumption of the two routes will bring the total number of international routes offered by China Southern Airlines from Shenzhen to 10, accounting for more than 60% of the pre-pandemic total in 2019. The airline has already resumed eight international and regional routes, including destinations like Sydney, Moscow, Dubai, and Bangkok.

For the upcoming flight season, China Southern Airlines plans to operate nearly 100 flights daily in the Shenzhen market, including 20 wide-body aircraft.

In addition, the airline will put two 777 full-cargo flights on routes to Europe and America. As the market recovers, China Southern Airlines leads in both flight operations and passenger turnover in the Shenzhen market.

According to Hou Ming, vice general manager of China Southern Airlines Shenzhen, domestic flights departing from Shenzhen will connect to 63 cities. The airline intends to add more flights on high-demand routes to cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, and increase their operational capacity in markets such as Hainan and Northeast China, catering to travelers’ interests in island and snow tourism during the season.
