Communication Ambassador shares SZ story at Wuzhen

Francis Kwesi Hagan, one of the Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors and a veteran volunteer, yesterday shared his Shenzhen story and views on values that promote social development at the 2023 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province.

Hagan delivered a speech on the theme of facilitating value innovation and jointly promoting a sustainable development of human society from the perspective of volunteering. He spoke on how the volunteering model of Shenzhen is contributing to the sustainable development of human society in achieving a shared future by building a harmonious society in which the marginalized, women and children experience dignity and respect. He also stated how Shenzhen people have embraced a new culture of service where everyone helps as a volunteer.
“In Shenzhen, we have built a strong volunteering infrastructure bringing different nationalities to share their time, expertise and energies,” he said. “My passionate involvement of volunteering in that city has made my stay there more meaningful, edifying and fulfilling.”
Hagan also recommended EyeShenzhen, a nine-language information platform and promoted his communication ambassador community to the audience.
Hagan, a Ghanaian teacher from C-UK College, is the head of the International Youth Volunteers’ Service U Station at Bao’an Stadium. Last year, he was recognized as the Most Beautiful Volunteer in Shenzhen.
The conference marked its 10th anniversary and is the most influential one of its kind in China. It attracted participants and representatives of successful companies from more than 60 countries who seek future cooperation with Chinese tech companies. New products and inventions were also exhibited.
