"Shiota Chiharu: The Soul Trembles" showcases works by Berlin-based artist Shiota Chiharu, who is best known for performances and installations that express the intangible: memories, anxiety, dreams, silence and more. With iconic large-scale installations featuring extensive use of red and black threads as well as drawings, sculptures, photographs and videos, the exhibition is a retrospection of the artist's art journey since the 1990s.

The integration of art and technologies is one of the highlights of Shenzhen Art Museum, a major museum in this city known for high technologies. The ‘Interwoven Scape’ digital art exhibition, the first exhibition in Shenzhen by OPLINEPRIZE, which recognizes outstanding contemporary digital art works, presents 17 works by 21 artists from nine countries, most of which are making their debut in China.

The "Innovation of Impressions" exhibition showcases 120 artworks, including 78 oil paintings, 40 photographs and two watercolors, most centering on scenery in France's Normandy. The exhibition, whose exhibits include authentic works by Gustave Courbet, Camille Corot and Claude Monet, explores the relationship between art and the era of industrial revolution in the 19th and 20th centuries.

"Moment of Fantasy," an exhibition commemorating the 160th anniversary of the birth of Chinese painter Qi Baishi, displays 160 art and literary works by the revered painter on loan from Beijng Fine Art Academy.

The "Looking Back and Going Ahead" exhibition features works depicting milestones in Shenzhen's history since the reform and opening up 45 years ago and the trajectory of art development in the city.

"Across Time and Space" is an exhibition with around 300 visual art works selected from Shenzhen Art Museum's collection of over 4,000 pieces. For those who are interested in learning a bit about Shenzhen's urban, social and cultural changes through the recording of camera lens, this exhibition, visualizing the process of how Shenzhen developed from a backward town to a modern metropolis, is not to be missed.

With exhibits selected from Shenzhen Art Museum's collection over the past 47 years, "Thriving Aesthetic" is a special exhibition outlining the museum's development and achievements over the past years and the role the museum plays in the city's cultural scene.
