Dashanbei Park
Surrounded by Maluan Mountain Country Park and built around the Dashanbei Reservoir in Pingshan District, Dashanbei Park is a back garden of Shenzhen that is bestowed with rich forest resources and beautiful lake scenery.
The Dashanbei Reservoir, with its mirror-like clear water, is surrounded by mountains and offers a very pleasant view, while the magnificent Maluan Mountain adds to the beauty of the park’s landscape.
Inside the park, the 6.8-km Dashanbei Greenway around the reservoir is one of the most pleasant hiking trails in the city. Suitable for jogging and cycling, the track features picturesque scenery along the way, with the reservoir’s reflective water on one side and a thick forest on the other.
Dashanbei Park is not only blessed with a unique ecological environment, but also boasts a variety of cultural relics and architectural attractions. The Taihe Pagoda is one of the oldest structures in the park, a beautifully crafted ancient pagoda that towers over the city. The Lake Pavilion is an ideal place to enjoy the lake view. On the second floor of the pavilion awaits an impressive view of the whole Dashanbei Reservoir. Standing there, one can easily feel the power and beauty of nature.
For those who love outdoor sports, Dashanbei Park offers a wealth of choices. Whether it’s hiking, cycling, fitness, parent-child activities, basketball or volleyball, there are facilities and venues that cater to the needs of different age groups. In addition, those who are inclined to heavier exercises can choose to climb to the top of Maluan Mountain, which commands a panoramic view of the Dashanbei Park.
