The 2023 World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) Shenzhen•Bao'an Final and World Bay Area Regatta is in full swing. Twelve of the world’s best match racing skippers from nine countries are competing in the final through Sunday. The winner of the event will be crowned 2023 Match Racing World Champion and take home a share of the US$200,000 purse. Between intense training and matches, the skippers are giving us interviews, talking about their training, their goals and their observations during their visit to Shenzhen.

Jeppe Borch (born Oct. 12, 1997) began sailing at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the sport. He went on to become one of Denmark’s most successful match racers, competing at the highest levels of the sport and achieving numerous victories. Jeppe’s sailing career began in dinghy racing, and he quickly showed a talent for the sport.

He won multiple national championships in Optimist, Laser, and 29er classes, as well as several international titles. He then moved on to keelboat racing and match racing, competing at the highest levels of the sport. Today, Jeppe continues to compete at the highest levels of match racing, representing Denmark in international competitions and striving to push the boundaries of what is possible on the water. His dedication to the sport and his skill as a sailor have made him a role model for aspiring sailors around the world,and he remains one of Denmark’s most respected and accomplished sailors.
