Golden Kapok Screening
Sixteen world documentaries released this year and last year will be shown at the Ninth Golden Kapok Screening on Dec. 16-21 at two Broadway cinemas in Shenzhen. All the documentaries are in their original languages with Chinese subtitles with some also have English subtitles.

‘Demon Onegin’
Contemporary Russian musical “Demon Onegin” is a successful attempt on Pushkin’s classic work and a play with the traditions of both Russian theater and Broadway standards.

‘Once’
“Once,” an unconventional and romantic musical based on the 2007 film, follows the story of an Irish street musician who gives up on love and music, and a Czech woman who inspires him to dream again. With music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, “Once” is adapted from a book by Irish playwright Enda Walsh.

SZSO’s choral concert
The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) will present a choral concert tonight. Helmed by Luo Shenka, resident conductor of the SZSO Chamber Chorus, the ensemble will join hands with the SZSO Children’s Choir to perform “Carmina Burana” (“Songs of Beuren”), the best-known piece by 20th-century German composer Carl Orff.

Striking architecture exhibition
Renowned Chinese architect Ma Yansong and his MAD Architects, known for their innovative designs that challenge traditional architectural norms, are exhibiting architectural models at the newly opened “Ma Yansong: Landscapes in Motion” exhibition at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning (MoCAUP).

Han Jiaying's solo exhibition
Renowned Chinese designer Han Jiaying has opened his new solo exhibition at the He Xiangning Art Museum in Nanshan District. The exhibition, titled “Han Jiaying’s Design A-Z,” showcases Han’s works spanning 30 years, including graphic design, installations and photography.

‘Looking Back and Going Ahead’
The "Looking Back and Going Ahead" exhibition at Shenzhen Art Museum (new venue) features works depicting milestones in Shenzhen's history since the reform and opening up 45 years ago and the trajectory of art development in the city.
