People who engage in physical activities or seek relaxation in Pingshan District Central Park can check out a painting exhibition featuring Pingshan’s landmarks and picturesque landscape at the Pingshan Art Museum’s Park Division inside the park.

The 55 exhibits were selected by a panel of judges and through public voting from more than 300 entries submitted by professional artists, students, residents and employees from local enterprises such as BYD and Honor.

Visitors can admire not only Pingshan’s historical and natural spots such as the Dawan Ancestral Residence, Guangzu Middle School and Maluan Mountain but also contemporary landmarks such as the Pingshan Culture Center, Pingshan Innovation Plaza, BYD headquarters and Shenzhen Biomedicine Innovations Industrial Park, all portrayed in oil paintings, ink paintings, prints, watercolors and children’s drawings.

These works serve as a reflection of the transformations Pingshan has undergone within urban, cultural and industrial spheres. Moreover, the exhibition extends an invitation to visitors to engage in on-site drawing and immerse themselves in the allure of the artistic creation process.

Chen Xiangbo, director of the Guan Shanyue Art Museum and one of the judges, said: “In reviewing the entries, I saw not only the vivid strokes, ink and color but also the affection and sense of belonging citizens have for Pingshan; they show their expectations and passion for Pingshan’s future.”

Paintings feature SkyShuttle trains in Pingshan.

“Although Pingshan is far from the city center, through various cultural events, people from all over the city have been attracted to Pingshan to enjoy art, which has also driven the district’s development,” said Liu Xiangqun, associate professor at Shenzhen Polytechnic University and another judge of the event.
