81 projects enter the semi-final of Hengqin international sci-tech competition

On January 3, 81 projects were announced as semi-finalists for the 3rd Hengqin International Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, with the results of the field research conducted on those projects unveiled.

Since the competition launched in April 2023, over 100 qualifying projects have been selected to proceed to the semi-final field inspection stage. From late November to mid-December last year, the organizing committee for the competition arranged six inspection teams to visit various cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, for field research. Additionally, tests for overseas projects in the United States, Brazil, Singapore, and other countries were conducted via video links.

The field research primarily focused on assessing the projects' intellectual property rights and core team background, business operations, financing status, human resources, and other relevant information. The goal was to determine whether the projects were eligible for the competition and to ensure their potential for implementation in Hengqin or Macao.

The semi-finals and final of the competition are scheduled to take place in Hengqin and Macao on January 23 and 25. The winning teams will receive funding of up to 100 million RMB.
