Guangzhou Eastern Road-rail Intermodal Transport Hub operates 408 international trains in 2023

At the beginning of the new year, the first China-Europe freight train departed from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, setting off from Zengcheng West Railway Station with cargoes including daily necessities and household appliances.

In 2023, the Guangzhou Eastern Road-Rail Intermodal Transport Hub operated 408 international trains, representing a year-on-year increase of 36%. These trains carried a total of 40,000 TEUs of merchandise, valued at 10 billion RMB, from more than 3,000 foreign trade enterprises.

Apart from Zengcheng West Railway Station, the original departure station, Guangzhou Communications Investment Group has expanded the train services to include  Nansha Port Station with return trains in order to stabilize the Manzhouli line and Central Asia line. Successive special train services have been introduced to transport new energy vehicles, durian, grain, air conditioning units, kitchen appliances, and cold chains.
