Shenzhen increases trains to Hong Kong and Shantou

Shenzhen adopts a new train diagram and starts operation at 0:00 on January 10, 2024.

In order to further meet the travel needs of residents in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, according to the new train timetable, the number of trains between Futian Railway Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station will be increased from 74 to 98 per day. The departure time of the last train from Futian Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station has been changed to 22:31, while the departure time of the last train from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Futian Railway Station has been postponed to 23:00.

Meanwhile, 16 EMU trains will run to and from Shantounan Railway Station in Shenzhen, including 4 from Shenzhen North Railway Station and 12 from Shenzhen Railway Station. The running time of the high-speed trains from Shenzhen to Shantou will be shortened by 26 minutes, from the current 135 minutes to 109 minutes.

Moreover, trains K570/67 and K568/9 running between Shenzhen East Railway Station and Qiqihar Railway Station, as well as trains K586/7 and K588/5 running between Shenzhen East Railway Station and Chengduxi Railway Station, will use 25T-typed trains, which can run at a maximum speed of 160 km/h. Therefore, the running time of trains from Shenzhen East Railway Station to Qiqihar Railway Station and Chengduxi Railway Station has been shortened by 11.5 hours and 5 hours, respectively.

After the adjustment, Shenzhen North Railway Station is expected to run 667 EMU trains, including 457 start-to-end trains and 210 passing trains. Shenzhen Railway Station is expected to run 204 start-to-end EMU trains, including 52 high-speed trains and 152 Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity trains, as well as 18 trains running at normal speeds. Shenzhen East Railway Station will operate 58 start-to-end trains running at normal speeds. Futian Railway Station is expected to operate 176 EMU trains. (GD Today)
