

Annual session gathers 290 district lawmakers

The Fourth Session of the Seventh Bao’an District People’s Congress opened on the morning of Jan.24, gathering a total of 290 lawmakers, according to Bao’an Daily.
Wang Lide, district mayor of the Bao'an District People's Government, delivered a government work report.
Bao’an District’s GDP was expected to exceed 500 billion yuan (US$69.8 billion) in 2023. The district introduced 346 projects with investments worth 130 billion yuan.
About 110 exhibition activities were held last year, attracting over 5 million visits.
The district also built and renovated 24 primary and high schools, and constructed 32,000 units of affordable housing.
In 2024, the district aims to obtain 6.8% growth in its GDP.
Additionally, the district will focus on its task to achieve new-type industrialization, promote the development of the modern service industry and sci-tech innovation, bolster consumption, enhance urban management and green and low-carbon development, and improve people’s well-being, according to the government work report.
