Bao'an receives more than 1.06 million visitors during holiday

Bao'an District received more than 1.06 million visitors, up 51.28% year on year. The total tourism revenue hit 750 million yuan (US$104.22 million), up 101.7% year on year, a third-party sample survey indicated.

Some 50.74% of the tourists came to Bao'an District for the first time, and the number of foreign tourists received in the district increased by 356.78% year on year, the survey showed.

A series of new year celebrations were held at the district's scenic spots. During the Spring Festival holiday, OHBay received over 600,000 visitors, up over 30% year on year. Its operating income increased by more than 20% year on year.

Shopping malls in Bao'an also launched promotions to boost consumption. Moreover, the district opened four cross-border bus routes, where travelerscan depart from some pick-up points in Bao'an District and head to Hong Kong.

During the Spring Festival holiday, the per capita travel expenditure of tourists visiting Bao'an increased by 32.92% yearon year, according to the third-party sample survey.
