Entrust Microgrid Ltd., which specializes in smart microgrid systems with renewable energy and energy storage and other smart energy appliances and devices, will establish its China headquarters in Pingshan, according to a cooperation agreement signed between the Pingshan District Government and the U.K. company.
During the Pingshan delegation's trip to the U.K. on Feb. 22-24, fruitful exchanges were conducted in the fields of biomedicine, intelligent connected vehicles and renewable energy, resulting in significant investment and strategic cooperation opportunities.
The Shenzhen (Pingshan)-U.K. (London) Investment Cooperation Exchange Event held in London attracted about 100 representatives from U.K. companies, universities, and research institutes to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in Pingshan. At the event, Pingshan signed a memorandum of understanding with Horiba Mira, a global provider of automotive engineering, research, and test services.
The Pingshan delegation visited various prestigious institutions and organizations in the U.K., including the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult (CGT Catapult), Nick Dutton Technical Services Ltd., Imperial College London, Center for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (CAPE) in the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, and the Francis Crick Institute, engaging in discussions about technological innovation cooperation, talent exchanges, and project commercialization.
Cell and gene therapy is one of Pingshan's three industrial clusters with potentials, and the district is home to such innovative companies as Pregene, HYKM Biopharm, and Acen Med, as well as Shenzhen Cell Valley South China Cell Factory. To propel Pregene's collaboration with CGT Catapult, the Pingshan delegation engaged in discussions with CGT Catapult representatives.
Additionally, during the delegation's visit to CAPE in the University of Cambridge, professors at the center expressed their interest in launching an optical chip project in Pingshan. Furthermore, renowned enterprises such as GSK and Tycho MedLink have also shown interest in collaborating with Pingshan.
