A: Why did you quit your job?

B: My last job was so mindless. I would just input customer details into a spreadsheet, export the file to our internal format, then add it to the company database. Lather, rinse, and repeat, all day long.

Note: This is an instruction to repeat the same steps of some process, perhaps multiple times, in order to achieve the same desired result. “Lather, rinse, and repeat” used to appear on the instructions of several shampoo brands, asking people to wash their hair, rinsing then repeating. The phrase is used sarcastically as a metaphor for brainless directions.
