Longhua-based enterprises shine at MWC

Longhua District joined hands with over 20 quality enterprises to attend the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, from Feb. 26 to 29. The Longhua-based enterprises showcased their latest innovation and groundbreaking products, including power equipment, global positioning systems, wireless local area networks, PDAs, and supporting infrastructure at the MWC, aiming to tap the European market and seek potential partners.  

This year’s MWC, with a strong emphasis on 5G-A and AI technologies, saw over 100,000 attendees, with more than 2,400 enterprises from over 200 countries and regions in attendance, including over 300 Chinese exhibitors. 

While visiting the Longhua pavilion, Xavier Mayo, head of the International Promotion of Barcelona City Council, helped promote Longhua to the world. “I would like to welcome the Longhua delegation of institutions and companies. It is really impressive to learn what Shenzhen has been able to accomplish in the last year. We have a longstanding relationship with Shenzhen. We are sister cities, and we have a direct connection,” Mayo said. 

The China (Shenzhen Longhua)-Spain (Barcelona) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference and the Shenzhen Longhua District Government & Enterprise -Barcelona City Concil@MWC were held Feb. 26. Companies attending the conference were provided with a comprehensive understanding of the business and investment environments in Longhua and Barcelona. 

During the conferences, exchange meetings were also held to facilitate the communication between Longhua enterprises and global exhibitors and to promote the global acknowledge. Longhua introduced its geographical business and business environment, while the exhibitors also made presentations on the communication sector to seek opportunities. 

“We hope that the government departments could take the lead in exploring overseas markets, in order to increase the enterprises’ confidence for the global markets and to realize their intention to enhance their presence in the global market, so as to find opportunities among world leading competitors,” the person responsible for the Longhua delegation, said. 

“We would like to invite all the Chinese companies, especially those based in Longhua, to Barcelona and to enter the European market through Barcelona,” Mayo added. 

Over the past few years, Longhua has pushed forward strategic measures to promote digitalization districtwide, with expanding its digital network and communications industry. Longhua’s 5G bases’ density ranked first in Shenzhen. A batch of leading industrial firms such as Foxconn, Transsion, and Yunliwuli have also settled in Longhua.
