Bao'an will open six commercial complexes that will provide a total of 405,000 square meters of commercial space this year, according to Shenzhen Economic Daily.
Among the six commercial complexes, the 200,000-square-meter Shenzhen Wanfeng Coastal City is anticipated to open in June.
Situated in close proximity to a 25,000-square-meter jogging lane, the complex will provide a picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy leisure activities. Additionally, Wanfeng Coastal City is poised to spur economic growth and business development in the western region of the city, the report said.
The Shenzhen Bao’an Huaqiang Plaza’s business area will reach 100,000 square meters. The other four new complexes are designed as community-style shopping centers that will allow citizens to shop at their doorstep.
Currently, Bao’an is home to 37 commercial complexes with a total commerce area of over 3.13 million square meters, ranking first in the city.
In 2023, total retail sales of consumer goods in Bao'an reached 154.83 billion yuan (US$21.5 billion), ranking second in the city.
A total of 25 commercial complexes will be added to the city this year, increasing the city's total commercial area to over 1.75 million square meters.
