Nearly 40 foreign tech professionals and enthusiasts joined the Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors 

Foreign Talent Smart Longhua Tour & Sharing Session on Sunday. Held at the Longhua International Cooperation Center in Longhua District, the event allowed them to explore smart services and cutting-edge tech innovations.

Participants began their journey at the Longhua Exhibition Hall, where they explored key attractions along the newly established industrial tourism routes in Longhua and engaged with the latest technological advancements.

Following this, the group proceeded to the Longhua International Cooperation Center and the “Global Communication Ambassador · Shenzhen Story Club” Longhua Showroom. There, they examined a variety of featured sci-tech exhibits and participated in a technology-focused sharing session.

Immersive tech experience

The themes of digitalization, science and technology, and AI were prevalent throughout the event.

Muhammad Hamza Younes, a Ph.D. student at Shenzhen University, said he was previously unfamiliar with Long-hua. However, this visit left him impressed by the district’s blend of lush greenery and technological advancements.

At the sharing session, Michael John Eagleton, from Australia, gave a speech on the application of technology in Shenzhen. Eagleton presented an in-depth look at the city’s remarkable progress in 5G technology, AI, the Internet of Things, and electric vehicles. He noted that Shenzhen has a culture of innovation and is a one-stop shop for companies and innovators worldwide.

Longhua Showroom

The event also marked the official opening of the “Global Communication Ambassador · Shenzhen Story Club” Long-hua Showroom. Initiated by EyeShenzhen and the Longhua District Government, it is an immersive experience space that showcases Shenzhen stories tailored for a global audience.

A humanoid robot that can complete tens of thousands of tasks, a system that can monitor glucose levels in intercellular fluid in real time for 14 days, and a photon-transparent TV that perfectly integrates virtual images with the real environment are on display in the showroom. These cutting-edge products, manufactured by Longhua enterprises, captivated the visitors.

Furthermore, the “Letters for Shenzhen” session attracted the attention of many expats, who penned love letters to the city expressing their affection and feelings for Shenzhen in their native languages.

Ambassador program

During the event, nine Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassadors were honored with the title of Most Active Ambassadors in 2023 for their enthusiastic involvement in international activities and commitment to sharing Shenzhen stories with a global audience.

Brazilian Keyth Cristina Nascimento Guimaraes, one of the awardees, said she was honored to share her life in Shenzhen with the world.

“I need to say thank you to EyeShenzhen for choosing me as an ambassador, and I hope I can continue introducing Shenzhen to everyone in the world so that more people can know about Shenzhen,” she said.

The Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassador Program, initiated by EyeShenzhen last June, has invited a number of expats who follow Shenzhen’s urban development, are willing to contribute to Shenzhen’s internationalization, and have a professional background and community influence to share their experiences of living in Shenzhen and observations of the city.
