Dance drama ‘The Ninth Year of the Reign of Yonghe’
This remarkable production represents the first of its kind in China — a vivid celebration of the endurance and legacy of a calligraphic treasure. Brought to life by the Shanghai Opera House and under the expert guidance of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the performance is intricately woven around the themes of the famous ancient poem, “Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection.” With a masterful blend of choreography, narration, and stage design, the dancers embody the essence of ink, transforming their movements and sleeves into the strokes of a brush.
