Shenzhen City Polytechnic, the fourth higher vocational college to be established in Shenzhen, secured approval from the Ministry of Education in March 2024 for its formation, stemming from the foundation of the Shenzhen Institute of Technology.

Located at the heart of Longgang District, the college is slated to commence enrolling students for higher vocational education in 2024, offering an initial array of five majors encompassing computer network technology, modern logistics management, art design (interior design), jewelry design and craftsmanship, and biological products inspection and quarantine.

In a bid to enhance industry-education integration and bolster employment prospects, the institution has inaugurated 10 collaborative centers in conjunction with industry titans like Huawei, Amazon, and Siemens, among other Fortune 500 companies.

Nestled amidst verdant hills, the campus sprawls over 370,000 square meters, providing a scenic backdrop for academic pursuits.

Established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government in 1985, the Shenzhen Institute of Technology comprised 13 schools offering 37 programs, including the School of Sino-Germany Intelligent Production, School of Design, School of Liberal Arts, School of Business, School of Information and Communications, School of Jewelry, School of Transportation, School of Applied Biology, School of Communication Engineering, School of Landscape and Ecology, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and School of Continuing Education. With a faculty of more than 700 members and over 11,000 full-time students, the institute provided skills training, skills appraisal, and continuing education services for approximately 20,000 students annually.
