SZ launches first pet-friendly bus route

Operated by the Shenzhen Bus Group on weekends and legal holidays, bus line H239 is the city's inaugural pet-friendly bus route, offering a convenient transportation option for pet owners in the city.

The route spans from the Deyefeng Business Center in Bao’an to Wangjingkeng (Pet Joy Camp) in Xili, Nanshan, with bus stops including Honglangbei Metro Station and the Xingdong Metro Station.

Passengers traveling with pets are required to purchase tickets and reserve seats in advance through the “优点出行” app or its official WeChat mini-program if their pets require a seat. The number of tickets should correspond to the breed, age, and weight of the pet.

To ensure the well-being of both passengers and pets, the following regulations are enforced on pet-friendly buses:

1. Pets should be in good health. Owners must present a registration certificate (for dogs), a vaccination certificate (for cats), and a boarding code to the driver before boarding.

2. Pets must be leashed or on a traction rope during the entire ride.

3. Dogs must wear muzzles for the entire ride, while cats should be kept in cat bags or cages provided by their owners and remain inside during the whole journey.

4. Pets are required to wear diapers to prevent any environmental impacts from excrement while on the bus.
