Waterfront gem redefines urban living

The 6-kilometer-long Qianhai Bay Section of the Shenzhen Mountain-Sea Vistas opened to the public recently, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban planning. Stretching from Jinwan Avenue to OH Bay, this project is a pivotal component of Shenzhen’s ambitious “Mountains and Seas Connecting the City” initiative, covering an expansive area of approximately 440,000 square meters.

Designed to enrich the lives of residents, this waterfront marvel features promenades, running tracks, and cycling lanes that seamlessly blend transportation, leisure, and educational elements. Strategically placed thematic points along the route offer convenient rest stops and amenities, including restrooms, sports facilities, and educational resources, catering to citizens of all ages with spaces for sports, fitness, education, and leisure activities year-round.

Comprising three key sections, the project focuses on bridging cycling gaps along the coast and repurposing underutilized spaces to create a network of pathways connecting various parks and cultural sites. Safety measures such as reinforced steel supports, stainless steel anti-throw nets, and round-the-clock monitoring ensure a secure environment for all users. By reestablishing the bond between urban ecology and community, this development not only provides a recreational haven but also supports the overarching goal of the “Mountains and Seas Connecting the City” initiative.
