In its latest tourism report for the Chinese market, major Chinese travel platform Ctrip said that travelers’ enthusiasm remained high during the May Day holiday, with outbound and inbound travel bookings seeing obvious growth.

While some Shenzhen residents embarked on domestic journeys to explore their vast country or even traveled overseas during this year’s May Day holiday, which ran from Wednesday to yesterday, many people in Shenzhen chose to stay in the city to enjoy their holiday by shopping, dining, exercising, or visiting museums.

Meanwhile, Shenzhen also welcomed an increasing number of tourists during the five-day holiday, making the city one of the top 10 most popular domestic tourism destinations, along with Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing, according to Ctrip.
