EON Books is a new and distinctive book space launched by the Shenzhen Publishing Group. It is a new cultural space that integrates imported books, coffee breaks, leisure and social events, cultural salons, and art exhibitions. One of its core features is its rich variety of imported foreign-language books and English books published in China, covering a diverse range of fields including humanities, classics, traditional culture, art design, children's picture books, among others, which provide citizens with an international reading space.

In addition, EON Books pays attention to children's needs of reading foreign-language books. It will continue to improve the quantity and quality of its selection to connect more families and schools in Shenzhen, and open up a window for communication and exchange on children's reading between China and foreign countries.

At the opening ceremony, Tang Hanlong, chairman of Shenzhen Publishing Group, said that EON Books will collaborate with major universities and the international departments of senior high schools in Shenzhen, and recruit foreign students as “one-day curators,” “cultural experience ambassadors,” and “cultural sharing ambassadors.”

"We aim to build a platform that attracts foreign friends to come for reading, exchanges, and participating in various activities. This initiative will be helpful in telling Shenzhen's stories in China's process of modernization and further enhance Shenzhen's reputation among the public as a global model city for reading."

A rich variety of foreign-language books can be found at the bookstore.

During the ceremony, international students from Shenzhen University presented a bilingual recital of an excerpt from the French novel"Mona's Eyes."

On the same day, EON Books also organized its first "Worldwide Literature Reading" event — a new book salon for "Mona's Eyes," where the book's editor, international friends and citizens discussed about the art of French literature, promoting mutual exchange and learning between Chinese and French cultures.
