Longhua enhances construction safety and workers’ welfare

The Construction Safety Care project was officially launched with a ceremony, followed by an emergency drill, at the construction site of the Jiantai Urban Renewal Project in Longhua District yesterday.

More than 600 industry professionals attended this event, which was organized by the Guangdong Branch of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division's Second Construction Limited Company. The attendees had the option to participate either in person or through video conferencing.

Li Youhua, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Longhua District People’s Congress and chairman of the Longhua District Federation of Trade Unions, highlighted that the significance of construction safety embodies the genuine desires and fundamental values of all industry practitioners. The implementation of the care project is intended to deliver comprehensive humanistic support, health benefits, and safety assurances to the extensive construction workforce in Longhua.

Central to this initiative is the Construction Safety Card, an exclusive debit card issued by Ping An Bank to Longhua construction workers. Designed to link with workers' special accounts for salary deposits, this card grants holders full access to the rights and benefits of the care project.

This June marks the 23rd National Safety Production Month and an emergency rescue drill was conducted to raise awareness of construction safety and improve emergency response capabilities.

Moreover, the Guangdong Branch of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division's Second Construction Limited Company organized a themed communication session to spotlight its development milestones and construction feats in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The company also aims to develop stronger ties with local and national media.

Situated at the southwestern corner of the intersection of Gongye Road and Heping Road in Longhua's Dalang Sub-district, the Jiantai Urban Renewal Project covers an area of 420,000 square meters. This project is the pioneer demonstration project in Shenzhen and the first of its kind in Longhua focusing on high-rise industrial production buildings. It aims to accelerate the concentration of industrial resources and skilled workforce, thereby enhancing the industrial landscape of Longhua. Currently, the project is progressing through the primary construction phase.
