A summer carnival kicked off at the Splendid China • China Folk Culture Villages theme park in Nanshan District on June 28 and is scheduled to run until September 1.
The carnival, which lasts for a total of 66 days, features five unique celebrations, as well as 12 ethnic music festivals and more than 30 daily song and dance performances at the cultural villages within the park.
The five celebrations consist of a lively water-splashing carnival, a dazzling torch carnival, an interactive song and dance carnival, a cultural ethnic music carnival, and a delightful food carnival.

The water-splashing carnival features the energetic songs, dances, and parades of the Dai ethnic group, mixed with modern dances and electronic music events, as well as water-based recreational facilities for families.
Guests have the opportunity to experience exciting stunt performances at the torch festival, such as fire swallowing, fire breathing, and artists engulfed in flames. Additionally, they are encouraged to join torch parades and bonfire festivities to fully engage in the Dai community's intense enthusiasm.

The ethnic music festivals will kick off July 13 and continue every weekend, featuring a variety of cultural music traditions including throat singing, horse head string performances, and suona horn melodies.
The music and dance festival features over 30 shows and 10 themed parade floats, while the food carnival offers a wide selection of snacks and dishes from various ethnic communities.
During the carnivals, the theme park provides three different discounts for guests. Visitors who are under 18 years old are eligible for entrance tickets at half the price. After 6 p.m. each day, nighttime tickets can be purchased for 69 yuan (US$9.4). Additionally, guests have the option to buy an annual pass for 365 yuan, which allows unlimited entry for the entire year.
