Water Splashing Festival

The Water Splashing Festival in Splendid China, running from July 1 to Aug. 28, immerses visitors in the festive mood of the Dai ethnic group in Southwest China, with cultural performances, local delicacies, and water splashing parties. A nighttime parade featuring songs and dances by performers in traditional Dai attire brings the summer party to a climax.

‘Face 3.0’

The Chinese drama “Face 3.0” showcases care for the spiritual world of the elderly. Choreographed by Xiao Renzhi, “Face 3.0” integrates drama with contemporary dance. Masks replace performers’ facial expressions, while elderly people’s emotions and inner worlds are showcased through physical movements.

New coastal promenade

Visitors can now explore a new landmark to experience mountains and the sea in Dapeng New Area. The 3.7-kilometer coastal promenade on the Dapeng Bay coastal highway ring road now opens to the public, with the construction of the 400-meter section between Beizaijiao and Shangdong being completed.

For those driving, navigate to Yancun Parking Lot (盐村停车场), then walk 1.5 kilometers along Shenkui Road (深葵路). If taking the bus, alight at Xichong Yancun Stop (溪涌盐村站), and walk 1.5 kilometers along Shenkui Road.

Flute concert

Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s principal flutist, Jin Ta, will collaborate with pianist Jamie Shum from China’s Hong Kong to deliver a captivating repertoire featuring works by Liszt, Schubert, Poulenc, and Taffanel.

‘UNFOLD 2024’

Andy Warhol’s works

Holger Matthies’ compelling posters

Shenzheners now can admire performance-themed posters designed by German artist Holger Matthies at a free exhibition at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum. The exhibition comprises over 60 posters selected from the art museum’s collection. Matthies’ conventional two-dimensional designs stand out for their incorporation of impactful visuals and creative elements, leaving a lasting impression.
