‘Mamma Mia!’

The smash-hit jukebox musical “Mamma Mia!” unfolds as a daughter’s wedding looms and her search for her father’s identity reunites her mother with three past suitors. Featuring classic ABBA hits and vibrant choreography by Anthony Van Laas, this promises a feel-good show.

French Film Panorama

The 2024 Panorama du Cinéma Français (French Film Panorama in China) will screen eight feature-length films and a short film from France in Shenzhen on July 11-26.

Dance championship 

The 19th World Cup Ballroom Dance Championship is to be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian from July 13 to 19. Dancers from nearly 30 countries will participate in this grand event.

Ceramic art exhibition

Jingdezhen, a small city in northeastern Jiangxi Province, bears the reputation of being China's "capital of ceramics." Shenzhen residents now have the opportunity to view a variety of ceramic products from seven artists without having to travel there.

‘Poem of Flora’

This unique exhibition combines botany with ancient relics, offering a visually stimulating display. Featuring ancient carved stones and rubbings depicting willow, orchid, Chinese fan palm, hardy banana and bamboo, alongside plant specimens and ancient poems, the exhibition provides insights into ancient Chinese people’s lives with plants and how they expressed their emotion with plants.

Lacquer and ink paintings

Chinese artist Han Chunling is currently showcasing her lacquer and ink paintings at the “No Boundary” exhibition at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning.

New park opens

Toupi Park, located next to Tianxin Community in Shijing Subdistrict, Pingshan District, is nestled in a mountain valley yet easily accessible via Metro. 

The park is divided into three parts: the Urban Connection Section, the Revitalized Vitality Section, and the Ecological Science Section. Each part serves a distinct purpose, providing spaces for citizens to relax under canopies, stroll through lush greenery, explore nature or allow their children to enjoy diverse recreational amenities.

‘The Artists' Dialogue’ concert

American conductor Christopher Russell, Chinese violinist Xue Suli, and Japanese harpist Kazuko Shiozaki will collaboratively grace the stage of Shenzhen Concert Hall, delivering renowned works by Mendelssohn, Bruch, and Ives. From the echoing harmonies of the Hebrides to the captivating compositions of Scottish ballads, this concert promises to envelop the audience in an evening of symphonic enchantment.

‘Grassland and Sea’

A gust of musical flair from the Mongolian grassland sweeps into Shenzhen! The Folk Orchestra of Inner Mongolia Art Theater, in concert with the Guangdong National Orchestra, will present a unique and dynamic performance that blends the musical traditions of the north and south. Expect a captivating blend and lively interplay mirroring the collision of the verdant grassland and the azure sea.
