The 144-hour visa-free policy for transit foreigners in Guangdong

自2019年5月1日起，对54个国家持有效国际旅行证件和144小时内确定日期、座位前往第三国（地区）联程客票（包括机票、船票、列车票、前往港澳地区汽车车票）的外国人，可选择从广州白云机场、深圳宝安机场、揭阳潮汕机场空港口岸中的任一口岸入境、从国务院批准同意的广东省36个口岸①：

中的任一口岸出境，过境免签停留区域为广东省。

Starting from May 1, 2019, passengers from 54 countries holding valid international travel documents and interline tickets (air tickets, ship tickets, train tickets, and bus tickets to Hong Kong and Macao) to a third country or region (provided they have confirmed the date and seat of the tickets within 144 hours) can enter from any port among Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, and Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, and exit from any of the 36 ports in Guangdong Province approved by the State Council. The visa-free stay area for transit passengers is within Guangdong Province.

第一类

从广州白云机场、深圳宝安机场、揭阳潮汕机场空港口岸中的任一口岸入境，由广东省36个客运口岸出境前往第三国（含港澳台地区），可在广东省行政区域范围内，自入境次日起停留6天，免办中国签证。

申请人行程中如包含公务机，无法出具联程客票时，凭公务机公司出具的载明旅客身份信息、航班号、航线行程、出入境日期等信息的书面证明等材料办理手续。

入境时，持本人有效国际旅行证件和144小时内确定日期、座位前往第三国（地区）联程客票（含机票、船票、列车票等）向白云边检站申请临时入境许可，经审核批准后，可免签临时入境，免签准予停留期限为其入境次日起的第6天。

Category I

Passengers arriving through Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, and Jieyang Chaoshan Airport, and departing from any of the 36 passenger ports in Guangdong Province to a third country including the regions of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), are permitted to stay within Guangdong Province for up to 6 days starting from the day after entry, without the need to apply for a Chinese visa.

For travelers whose itinerary includes a business jet and are unable to obtain interline tickets, they must present a written certificate from the business jet company containing passenger identity details, flight number, route itinerary, entry and exit dates, and other necessary information to complete the formalities.

Those entering China with a valid international travel document and a confirmed interline ticket to a third

country or region within 144 hours (including air, ship, or train tickets) can apply for a temporary entry permit at the Baiyun Border Inspection Station. Upon successful review and approval, travelers can temporarily enter China without a visa. The permitted stay duration is up to 6 days starting from the day after entry.

第二类

从广州白云机场、深圳宝安机场、揭阳潮汕机场空港口岸中的任一口岸入境，转从广东省10个公路口岸出境前往港澳地区，可在广东省行政区域范围内，自入境次日起停留6天，免办中国签证。

入境时，持本人有效国际旅行证件和144小时内确定日期、座位前往港澳地区汽车车票（或经港澳赴其他地区的机票、在港澳预订酒店或参加活动的凭证等可以证明外国人在入境144小时内出境前往港澳的证明材料）向白云边检站申请临时入境许可，经审核批准后，可免签临时入境，免签准予停留期限为其入境次日起的第6天。

Category II

Passengers arriving through Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, and Jieyang Chaoshan Airport, and departing from any of the 10 road ports in Guangdong Province to the regions of Hong Kong and Macao, are permitted to stay within Guangdong Province for up to 6 days starting from the day after entry, without the need to apply for a Chinese visa.

Travelers entering China with a valid international travel document and a confirmed bus ticket to Hong Kong and Macao within 144 hours (or air tickets to other regions through Hong Kong and Macao, vouchers for hotel bookings, or participation in activities in Hong Kong and Macao, etc., which can demonstrate the individual's intention to depart for Hong Kong and Macao within 144 hours of entry) are eligible to apply for a temporary entry permit at the Baiyun Border Inspection Station. Once the application undergoes a successful review and approval process, travelers can enter China without a visa for a temporary stay of up to 6 days, commencing from the day following their arrival.
