

Serbian to coach SZ team in Volleyball Super League

The Shenzhen Zhongsai Volleyball Club announced Monday that Vladimir Vasović, head coach of Serbia’s U21 women’s national volleyball team, has been appointed as the club’s new head coach.

He will lead the team in the 2024-2025 Chinese Women’s Volleyball Super League and is expected to arrive in Shenzhen in early September to begin preparations for the upcoming season.
Vasović started his career with the renowned Red Star Belgrade team. After retiring as a player, he transitioned to coaching and has since held positions in Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, and other countries. His coaching accolades include leading teams to victory in the Serbian Women’s Volleyball Super League and the Serbian Cup, as well as securing a third-place finish in the CEV Challenge Cup.

Since 2016, Vasović has been at the helm of Serbia’s youth national teams, guiding them to achievements such as winning the 2023 U21 Balkan Women’s Volleyball Championship, finishing as a runner-up at the 2022 U19 European Women’s Volleyball Championship, and clinching the U18 Balkan Women’s Volleyball Championship.
