The city's public-benefit platform for scientific literature has expanded its offerings by adding three more databases to its collection, now providing free access to a total of 10 top-tier scientific databases, as announced at a conference discussing the innovative development of the biopharmaceutical industry Thursday.
The Biopharmaceutical Industry Conference drew over 60 experts and scholars from research institutes, higher education institutions, hospitals, academic publishers, and enterprise representatives in the field of biomedicine. The event took place at the Shenzhen Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone.

During the conference, the Shenzhen International Science and Technology Information Center (ITIC) announced that three additional databases — China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Medical Association Journal Database, and the CAS SciFinder Discovery Platform — have been integrated into ITIC's platform.
In addition to the newly added databases, users of ITIC's portal (http://itic.sci.com/) can also access seven other top-tier databases for free, namely ScienceDirect, Science Citation Index Expanded, Springer, Nature, Wiley Online Library, ClinicalKey, and incoPat.
According to Yan Weidong, Director of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Library (Shenzhen University Town Library), the availability of 10 leading databases will greatly facilitate literature resource retrieval for research institutes and companies.

During the keynote sharing, scholars and enterprise representatives shared insightful perspectives on various aspects, including the development path for the biomedical industry, the commercialization of innovative research outcomes, and the support tools for innovative drug development.
Earlier this month, ITIC collaborated with EyeShenzhen to launch the Technology Literature Resource Section on www.eyeshenzhen.com, providing an additional resource for the public-benefit platform. Netizens can now access six different databases through this section.
