Drone shows to light up festival celebrations

The Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center was aglow with vibrant lights on the evening of Sept. 12, hosting not only Jay Chou's electrifying concert but also a breathtaking display of technological wonders outside its walls.

As the night sky became a canvas, thousands of drones took flight, their glowing lights creating intricate paintings of romantic balloons, vibrant basketballs, captivating sunset scenes and other mesmerizing images that seamlessly blended technology and art. The audience erupted in applause, awed by the magical display unfolding before their eyes.

These nine captivating light paintings unfolded gracefully over the course of 20 minutes, creating a visual symphony of innovation and beauty. This remarkable display is just one of a series of regular drone performances in Shenzhen's Longgang District, offering a delightful surprise to both locals and visitors embarking on nocturnal adventures in the area.

As the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays approach, Shenzhen will host a series of exceptional drone performances, promising a feast for the senses that seamlessly blends artistry and cutting-edge technology.

Sept. 14: Mission Hills Ecological Sports Center drone performance

Experience an enchanting drone performance at the Mission Hills Ecological Sports Center, set in the picturesque surroundings of the tennis court. This event promises a unique technological spectacle for attendees.

Time: 7:30 p.m., Sept. 14

Add: Tennis court inside Mission Hills Ecological Sports Center, No.1 Mission Hills Road, Longhua District (龙华区观澜湖路1号观澜湖运动公社)

Tickets: 29.9 yuan

Sept. 15: Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center drone performance

Sept. 16 and 17: Window of the World drone performances

Experience the magic of the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Window of the World with a drone performance that beautifully interprets the phases of the moon, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Time: 9 p.m., Sept. 16 and 17

Tickets: Day pass starting from 209.9 yuan for adults; night pass at 120 yuan on weekdays and 150 yuan on weekends
