Guangming District hosted an enriching cultural event on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival - the Second Folk Cultural Carnival, Bao'an Daily reported.

The festivities began on the afternoon of Sept. 14 at Guangming Wanda Plaza, drawing a crowd of tourists and enthusiastic participation from local residents.

The event commenced with a dazzling performance by the Jinkou Kirin Dance Performance Team, showcasing the district's intangible cultural heritage project. The Kirin Dance, known for its artistic allure and deep cultural significance, captivated the audience and garnered applause throughout.

A special segment dedicated to sending blessings allowed visitors to write heartfelt wishes on blessing cards for the nation, their families, and Guangming Science City. These cards were then placed in a message blessing box and added to the wishing wall, creating a heartwarming and interactive experience that resonated with attendees.

The atmosphere peaked during the balloon surprise box ceremony, marking the official start of the "Celebrating Mid-Autumn in Guangming - Second Folk Cultural Carnival" as citizens united in a countdown.

The carnival also featured a range of traditional folk games and handmade activities, attracting a diverse crowd who immersed themselves in the cultural richness and celebratory ambiance. A highlight of the event was the exquisite performance of a Song Dynasty-style wedding ceremony, renowned for its grandeur, elegance, and intricate rituals, offering attendees a glimpse into a unique wedding tradition.

As the event drew to a close with the night setting in, the spirit of joy and excitement lingered in the air. Many attendees expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partake in the vibrant cultural celebration and gain a deeper appreciation for China's rich heritage.
