Guangming Water Company hosts open day event

Citizens visit the production and laboratory areas of the water plant.

Guangming Water Company welcomed over 260 citizens, business representatives, and children to the Jiazitang Water Plant on Sept. 21 for an engaging open day event.

The visitors had the opportunity to explore the production and laboratory areas of the water plant, immersing themselves in a hands-on experience of tap water production.

The event was designed to provide an interactive and educational experience for attendees. The company organized water culture facility exhibitions and various activities such as fishing, bubble blowing, and tours of specialized equipment and vehicles. Participants, both young and old, enjoyed conducting water quality experiments, including simple chemical tests to ensure the purity of tap water. Children were particularly fascinated by the demonstration of pipeline inspection robots.

The water company upholds national and local water quality standards, ensuring that their water meets international benchmarks. With a capacity of 200,000 tons per day, the Jiazitang plant utilizes a comprehensive water treatment process to deliver safe and clean drinking water to residents.

During the open day event, visitors learned about the company's history, technological advancements, and the importance of the West River as a new water source. Guangming District recently achieved full coverage of water supply from the West River through the West River Water Diversion Project, marking a significant milestone in urban sustainable development.

Attendees were guided through the production and laboratory areas of the water plant, witnessing the meticulous processes involved in turning raw water into potable water. Every step, from filtration to disinfection, is carefully monitored to ensure water safety and quality. Li Baowei, the chairman of Guangming Water Company, emphasized the importance of clean water as a vital resource and highlighted the company's commitment to maintaining high standards of water production.

Visitors expressed confidence in the quality and safety of tap water after witnessing the stringent controls and protocols at the water plant.

Through this immersive experience, attendees gained a deeper appreciation for the efforts of delivering clean water to households, underscoring the essential role that Guangming Water Company plays in safeguarding the community's access to safe drinking water.
