Nanshan District has announced a lineup of literary festivities as the city gears up for the 25th Shenzhen Reading Month in November 2024.

On Oct. 12, the district convened a preparatory meeting for the activities to be held at the Nanshan subvenue of Shenzhen Reading Month. Wang Yuanhui, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanshan District Committee and head of the district’s publicity department, attended the event.

This year’s Nanshan subvenue is set to build on its tradition of fostering a love for reading with the “Appreciating Nanshan” brand, emphasizing the pursuit of truth through science, goodness through humanities, and beauty through art.

It will zero in on science popularization and science fiction as well as traditional culture as its key focuses, organizing a total of 10 major reading activities and 208 themed events.

Wang said that the Nanshan subvenue will see the active participation of various departments, subdistricts, social organizations, and enterprises in planning and executing a vibrant array of reading initiatives.

Wang also stressed the need to cater to the diverse reading appetites of residents. The district aims to reach a broad audience with reading activities while also collaborating with universities and inviting experts and scholars to share in-depth knowledge.
