Magicians from China, Sweden, Germany, South Korea, and Spain will gather at the 5th Shenzhen Bao’an International Magic Arts Festival to entertain attendees. The festival will kick off tomorrow and run until Sunday at the Xixiang Hall in Bao'an District.

Among the invited magicians are Jun-woo Park from South Korea, Tom Stone from Sweden, who has been a professional magician for 34 years, and Zhang Junzhe from Shenzhen.

Magicians will not only perform shows at the opening and closing ceremonies but will also hold lectures throughout the festival, providing local magic enthusiasts with plenty of opportunities to learn from pros. Additionally, a magic competition will be held to select young, talented magic enthusiasts.

A magic props exhibition will take place from Friday to Sunday, and a seminar on the development of magic props is scheduled for Saturday.

This year’s festival will incorporate technological elements to better showcase the allure of magic, according to the organizers.

Citizens can follow the WeChat account“滨海宝安”(ID: aibaoan) for ticket information.

In another development, the 4th GBA Cup Chinese Weiqi Championship will be held from Oct. 20 to 24 at Bao'an 1990. A total of 15 players will compete for the title of “Great Weiqi Player” in this year's finals after advancing from a field of 166 players after six rounds of competitions.

Weiqi, also known as Go, originated in China thousands of years ago. It is an abstract strategy game for two players, with the goal of encircling more territory than the opponent.

To promote Go among younger generations, players will visit primary and high schools in Bao’an during the finals to interact with students, according to the Shenzhen Bao’an District Weiqi Association, one of the championship organizers.
