International Eyewear Expo to be held in SZ

The "2024 LIGHT VISION" Shenzhen International Eyewear Expo, scheduled from Dec. 27 to 29 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District, aims to highlight the city’s appeal as a "Fashion Capital."

Cai Bin, secretary-general of the Shenzhen Eyewear Industry Association, announced at a news conference Friday that the expo will span 15,000 square meters, attracting participants from eight selected countries and regions, alongside over 200 exhibiting companies from more than 20 provinces and cities in China. The event anticipates over 20,000 professional visitors from regions and countries including Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Organizers plan to combine “industry chain + design + intelligence” to create a unique experience for attendees.

During the press conference, it was revealed that the expo will showcase over 100 suppliers from the Shenzhen eyewear industry, presenting the latest technological advancements and products. There will also be a strong emphasis on smart eyewear solutions, including AI, AR, and VR technologies, merging traditional eyewear offerings with modern innovations.

Yu Quan, vice president of the Shenzhen Federation of Commerce, unveiled that the expo is structured around an engaging “1+1+8” model, featuring an opening ceremony, the main expo, and eight supporting events. These will include an online exhibition, an international summit forum titled "Focusing on Longgang: A New Chapter for Eyewear Industry," Shenzhen Eyewear Consumption Week, brand collaborations, the 2024 Shenzhen International Eyewear (Wearables Design Contest, product launch events, investment promotion meetings, enterprise tours in Longgang, and supply-demand matchmaking sessions.

“The expo aims to position Shenzhen as a global hub for high-end eyewear brands and to evolve the event into one of the top three eyewear exhibitions in China, as well as the leading expo in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” said Yu.

Cai elaborated on the diverse exhibition areas, which will include sections for eyewear brands, industrial chain partners, smart eyewear, technology innovation, and designer showcases. This multifaceted approach aims to unveil cutting-edge products and trends, highlighting the "Shenzhen gene" in eyewear innovation.
