A press conference showcasing winter tourism resources in northeastern China's Jilin Province was held in Shenzhen on Friday. The event attracted over 200 attendees from the tourism industries of both Jilin and Guangdong Province, as well as local reporters.
According to Jin Zhenlin, deputy director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jilin Province, Jilin possesses a rich cultural heritage and unique tourism resources. Currently, there are 26 national-level ski resorts in China, five of which are located in Jilin, giving the province the highest number in the country. Furthermore, distinctive characteristics of Jilin’s winter include powder snow, calm winds, and warm sunshine.

“The Jilin rime, one of China’s four natural wonders, winter fishing on Chagan Lake, and activities such as skiing, soaking in hot springs, experiencing local customs, and tasting regional specialties combine to create an attractive winter tourist destination. Although Jilin and Guangdong are thousands of miles apart, they enjoy close exchanges and interactions in cultural tourism -- there are ample opportunities for collaboration,” Jin said.
During the event, several popular tourist attractions and curated travel routes were presented to the audience, which also enjoyed performances showcasing Jilin’s rich folk and ethnic traditions.
Additionally, eight enterprises from Jilin and Guangdong signed cooperation agreements at the event, demonstrating their strong commitment to strengthening collaboration and promoting mutual prosperity.

In recent years, Jilin has implemented a series of supportive policies to advance its tourism industry. Subsidies based on room count will be provided to newly built hotels once they become operational, with a maximum single subsidy of 3 million yuan (US$421,089). For enterprises achieving annual operating income over 100 million yuan for the first time, the maximum subsidy is 2 million yuan.
Newly established tourism enterprises that meet specific criteria can receive subsidies of up to 10 million yuan. Additionally, listed tourism enterprises whose market value exceeds 10 billion yuan for the first time will receive a one-time reward of 5 million yuan.
