Fiji tourism launches 2024 winter roadshow in Shenzhen, unveils 10 must-try experiences

The 2024 Fiji Winter Roadshow kicked off in Shenzhen, marking the beginning of a ten-day promotional tour in China. Joined by Fiji Airways, the Tourism Fiji introduced its "Top 10 Must-Try Experiences" aiming at enticing winter travelers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Fiji, a country comprising 333 islands, is renowned for its pristine beaches, colorful coral reefs, and lush tropical vegetation. Visitors can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, admire the towering coconut palms, and feel the pure tropical ocean charm.

To cater to the diverse travel needs of Chinese tourists, the "Top 10 Must-Try Experiences" was unveiled. These new experiences cover a wide range of tourism features in Fiji, highlighting its unique advantages as a treasure trove of tourist destinations.

Brent Hill, CEO of Tourism Fiji, emphasized China's significance as a key international market. "We will continue to invest heavily in this important market and deepen cooperation with Chinese travel agencies and media partners. We expect to provide Chinese visitors with relaxation and a deep dive into the Fijian lifestyle," said Hill.

In 2023, Fiji received 929,740 global visitors, with nearly 80% being leisure tourists. In 2024, Fiji expects to surpass the one million international visitor mark. As Fiji's fourth-largest source market, China has seen a rapid resurgence in visitor numbers. From April to September, Chinese tourist arrivals in Fiji increased by 26% compared to the same period in 2013.

To enhance travel convenience for Chinese tourists, Fiji Airways maintains three to five weekly direct flights from China’s Hong Kong to Fiji since October, with an additional two weekly direct flights from Tokyo and Singapore.
