

SZIIT grabs gold medal at vocational college skills competition

Participants from the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT) were among the six teams who won the gold medals at the recently concluded the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition for Integrated Circuit Application Development.

The final round of the competition, held at the SZIIT and aimed at students from electronic information-related majors, attracted 209 competitors from 56 vocational colleges across 28 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China.
After three days of intense competition, six teams, including those from SZIIT, Beijing Polytechnic, Chongqing Polytechnic University of Electronic Technology, Chengdu Polytechnic, Hunan Railway Professional Technology College, and Wuhu Institute of Technology, grabbed gold medals.
Organized by the Ministry of Education, the competition is aligned with national industrial development directions and key industries, and consists of 42 different categories.

The finals are divided into three stages: preliminary contests, ranking contests, and championship finals, with preliminary contests held in 32 competition zones. The Integrated Circuit Application Development competition is hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, with the SZIIT as a co-organizer.
The competition was held to showcase new technologies, new processes, new industries, and new jobopportunities in the integrated circuit industry, focusing on evaluating students' skill levels, professional qualities, practical value, teamwork, and innovation.

The competition covers core processes in integrated circuit design, manufacturing, packaging, and application, designed to cultivate students' field engineer mindset and train high-quality, skilled technical personnel that are urgently needed in the integrated circuit industry.
In discussing the achievements from this competition, participating instructors unanimously believe that the event has fully demonstrated the candidates' professional standards, team collaboration, and spirited determination.
Through this competition, participants have strengthened their willpower, learnt from each other, and grown together, while also showcasing the achievements of talent cultivation in the field of integrated circuit application and development in China, according to participating instructors.
