Nanshan kicks off 37 new projects worth 12.36 billion yuan

A total of 37 projects in Nanshan, excluding those managed by the Qianhai Authority, have commenced construction, with a total investment of 12.36 billion yuan (US$1.7 billion) and a planned investment of 4.61 billion yuan for 2024.

These projects are among the third batch of new construction projects for 2024 in Shenzhen, which was officially launched on Nov. 14.

The projects in Nanshan span a variety of sectors, including urban renewal, infrastructure, social welfare, and cultural tourism, aiming to further enhance the high-quality development of the district.

The projects consist of 13 focused on improving people’s well-being, 14 industrial projects, and 10 infrastructure projects. In terms of categories of investors, 18 projects are funded by private investment and 19 by government investment. Notably, eight projects have a total investment exceeding 500 million yuan, and 16 projects have an investment of over 50 million yuan for 2024.

One of the flagship projects is the Xili Tongfuyu Industrial Park urban renewal project, with a total investment of approximately 5 billion yuan. Covering a land area of 67,000 square meters and a building area of 255,800 square meters, this project will feature residential, commercial, office spaces, and supporting facilities, primarily catering to the university town area and aiming to attract and retain high-level talent.

Another significant project is the Nantou Ancient Town characteristic cultural block (Phase II), with a total investment of about 250 million yuan. The project involves the renovation of approximately 68,700 square meters, including repairs, new supporting facilities, pipeline relocation, and cultural exhibitions. The initiative is set to improve the spatial quality and image of Nantou Ancient Town, foster a cultural and creative industry cluster, and promote the coordinated development of culture and tourism.

The municipal sewage pipeline network improvement project in the Dasha River Basin is also part of this batch. It entails the construction, renovation, and expansion of drainage networks, totaling about 59.32 kilometers in length. Once completed, this project will significantly enhance the regional sewage collection and treatment system, thereby improving the water quality of the Dasha River.
