Intl. innovation competition held in Guangming

A total of 55 finalists from the 8th China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition converged in Guangming District following their successes in regional competitions across Paris, France, Barcelona, Spain, and Zurich, Switzerland.

Welcoming the finalists with a grand ceremony, Guangming District offered in-depth briefings about the competition and its associated activities, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

The finals for seven industries will be held simultaneously in Bao’an, Longgang, Longhua and Guangming districts on Nov. 26 and 27.

With a longstanding involvement in hosting the international entrepreneurial event for three consecutive years, Guangming District has been providing tailored services for project implementation and talent recruitment.

By adopting a unique "1+2+4" competition format involving an opening ceremony, two industry finals, and four gatherings of top-tier entrepreneurs, the district is showcasing its vibrant ecosystem of innovation, technological prowess, and the harmonious blend of ecological and cultural aesthetics to the global participants.

Within this competition framework, Guangming District took charge of overseeing the overseas regional competitions held in Paris, Barcelona, and Zurich, as well as managing the industry finals in the biomedicine and health, and new materials sectors. Drawing in a notable participation of 873 projects and 1,056 individuals, the competitions culminated in the recognition of 18 projects with awards, while 42 projects secured a direct pathway to the industry finals.

Guangming District is also orchestrating an array of supplementary activities spanning the realms of science, industry, humanities, and the scenic natural landscapes. By organizing the event, the district opens an encompassing international showcase window for Guangming Science City, aimed at attracting talent, fostering enterprise growth, facilitating urban promotion, and encouraging global interactions.

This strategic approach has not only promoted a seamless integration of talent, innovation, industry, and capital chains but also propelled Guangming District towards a heightened global prominence as an epicenter for industrial and technological innovation, and a pivotal hub for top-tier talent in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The international participants expressed appreciation for Guangming District, acknowledging the competition as a pivotal platform not only for showcasing innovative accomplishments and fulfilling entrepreneurial aspirations but also for delving into the nuances of the Chinese market and expanding their international horizons. With aspirations to leverage opportunities in Shenzhen and Guangming for the realization of their dreams, the participants are eager to advance further in their entrepreneurial pursuits.

Beyond the competition endeavors, from Sunday to Monday, Guangming District orchestrated a diverse spectrum of activities, offering the finalists chances for engagement with potential investors and enterprises.
