Winning Submissions from the 6th Expats Eyeshenzhen Photo Contest

Results of the Sixth Expats Eyeshenzhen Photo Contest have been revealed. This year’s contest, held from July 19 to Sept. 20, was divided into four categories: Shenzhen Cityscape (C1), Shenzhener (C2), Shenzhen Tech (C3), and Shenzhen Nature (C4).
The organizing committee received submissions from 90 contestants representing countries such as the U.K., the U.S., Japan, Ukraine, France, Germany, Serbia, the Philippines, and Italy. Fifteen entries were submitted via the contest’s official Instagram account.
After two rounds of selection, the committee awarded the following:
● Photographer of the Year: 8,000 yuan (US$1,106)
● Photographers of the Categories: 4,000 yuan each
● Merit Photographers: 2,000 yuan each
● Shortlisted Photographers: 1,000 yuan each
The Photographer of the Year is John Roger Speakman from the U.K.
The Photographers of the Categories are:

The Merit Photographers are:

● Marlon E. Villaverde from the Philippines (C3)
● Ashley Main from the U.K. (C4)
The Shortlisted Photographers are:

● Misha van der Walt from South Africa (C2)
● Stefan Sattler from Germany (C2)
● Charles Njo from the Netherlands (C1)
● Jerome Reyes from the Philippines (C2)

● Inna Kutsyn from Ukraine (C1)
● Oleh Klymenko from Ukraine (C1)
The Shenzhen Cityscape category (C1) showcased the city’s landmarks, architecture and iconic projects. The Shenzhener category (C2) featured people in Shenzhen and their everyday life. The Shenzhen Tech category (C3) highlighted the city’s technological innovations. The Shenzhen Nature category (C4) focused on Shenzhen’s natural landmarks, ecology, and wildlife.
The contest was hosted by the Information Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government and organized by EyeShenzhen, Shenzhen Daily, and the Bao’an District Government.
