School holds spectacular sports meet at Spring Cocoon

The Nanshan Foreign Language School (Group) hosted its Shenzhen Bay Sports Festival recently, with nearly 10,000 students and teachers from four schools gathering at track-and field sports ground of the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, also known as Spring Cocoon.

The opening ceremony featured a grand parade of students from the Keyuan Primary School, Gaoxin High School, OCT Middle School, and the Senior High School of the Nanshan Foreign Language School (Group). 

The flag-bearing team, composed of 33 members from the Senior High School, showcased the vibrant spirit of the school's students.

The children waved bright orange fans, symbolizing flames, as they "launched" their energetic dreams of space exploration. The flower team from Gaoxin High School brought vitality to the event with their lively steps, while the flag team from OCT Middle School waved colorful banners, representing the vibrancy and limitless potential of youth.

As the festivities officially commenced, students from all four schools prepared exciting performances. The atmosphere was filled with passion and energy, prompting parents to cheer enthusiastically for their children's outstanding displays. 

"As a parent, I am deeply moved by this vibrant atmosphere! The thought of my child being able to interact and learn with peers from various schools on such a grand stage at the Spring Cocoon fills me with excitement and pride," exclaimed Liu, a parent of a Keyuan Primary School student. 

Another parent surnamed Zhang, expressed her gratitude towards the school, stating, "Thank you to the school for providing such a large platform for our children to sweat it out and showcase their athletic talents."

This year's sports meet spans three days and features multiple events, including athletics, tug-of-war, and rope jumping, allowing students to enhance their physical fitness and teamwork skills through spirited competition.

Liang Ming, principal of the Senior High School of Nanshan Foreign Language School (Group), delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, noting that for nearly 30 years, the school has cultivated a unique curriculum that has produced numerous well-rounded and academically excellent students. These students have made their mark in various fields both domestically and internationally, becoming a source of pride and a hallmark for Nanshan. In the integration of sports and education within the Nanshan Group, students not only excel in various competitions but also achieve comprehensive development in sports such as softball, figure skating, baseball, orienteering, rowing, golf, fencing, and shooting.
