SZ releases incentives to bolster growth of green spending

The city authority has introduced 19 measures that aim at bolstering the green transformation of key consumption sectors and building a sustainable green supply chain.

These measures focus on major consumption areas such as new energy vehicles, energy-efficient home appliances, and green electricity. 

The city will encourage clothing production and design companies to use renewable and biodegradable green fibers. Shenzhen will also enhance support for replacing old home appliances with new ones by providing subsidies for individual consumers who purchase energy-efficient refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, computers (including laptops), water heaters, household stoves and range hoods, as well as water-efficient washing machines. Futhermore, subsidies will be offered for products such as mobile phones, tablets, smart wearable devices, consumer drones, consumer robots, and 3C servers that meet energy efficiency of level 2 or above.

Financial support of up to 500,000 yuan (US$68,727), 300,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan will be provided for leading organizations that develop relevant national standards, industry standards, and outstanding group standards for green products. Additionally, those participating in the formulation of relevant national and industry standards for green products will receive support of up to 250,000 yuan and 150,000 yuan, respectively.
