18.8km cycling path unveiled in Guangming

Guangming District welcomes a new era in leisure cycling with the official launch of an 18.8-kilometer cycling path.

It's the first fully constructed cycling path for leisure in Shenzhen, according to the district’s urban management and comprehensive law enforcement bureau.

Cycling enthusiasts in the city now have a new outdoor haven to explore, combining the joy of biking with the stunning scenery of the region. Cyclists can embark on a vibrant exploration journey on the brand-new leisure cycling path to discover the perfect blend of science elements, nature, and urban beauty as they pedal through the mesmerizing landscapes of the region.

Now opening to the public, the demonstration section of Guangming District's leisure cycling path marks a significant milestone. Serving as the city's premier cycling route, it promises a unique experience for cyclists, offering a refreshing way to release  stress, unwind, and immerse in the beauty of Guangming while enjoying a delightful ride. The route begins at the Guangming Science City Exhibition Center and concludes at the Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus. Encompassing vital urban hubs, functional areas, and natural landmarks like the Fun Farm, Guangming Lake Greenway, and Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology, this 18.8-kilometer route guarantees an approximate cycling time of 1hour and 30 minutes.

Guided by the vision of "Dynamic Mountains and Waters, Cycling Fun in Guangming," the path aims to showcase an enchanting green corridor, fostering a lively leisure economy focused on cycling. Cyclists are invited to relish the region's mountainous charm, serene waters, and countryside allure while basking in the backdrop of scientific innovation emanating from Guangming Science City.

The cyclists can begin their journey at the Guangming Science City Exhibition Center, where the tranquil Xinpitou River flows gently on the north side, seamlessly integrating the green beauty of the Guangming Science City with urban public spaces. Then they will traverse through the joyful countryside scenery, unveiling the picturesque green landscapes of Guangming and breathe in sync with nature along the Guangming Lake Greenway. A pause for respite at the Guangming Lake station will offer an opportunity for cyclists to immerse  themselves in the panoramic views of the Guangming Lake area.

After passing the Shenzhen University of Advanced  Technology, they will reach the endpoint at the Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus. Each pedal stroke brings a delightful encounter with endless possibilities in Guangming's scenic beauty and science elements.

Looking ahead, Guangming District is committed to enhancing the cycling landscape by initiating projects like the leisure cycling path university loop and Hongqiao Park loop, aiming to connect vital urban nodes and natural landscapes seamlessly. The district is building a "1+6" leisure cycling path system, encompassing one main route and six loops with different themes, offering an immersive  experience that celebrates the beauty of each season.
