In the final months of each year, Shenzhen welcomes visitors from the north — migratory birds! These birds flock to the mangroves and zones of low tide, with Shenzhen Bay Park being one of the premier locations for birdwatching and wildlife photography.
Among the diverse species that gather are black-faced spoonbills, grey herons, cormorants, and numerous seagulls, along with over 200 other bird species. This spectacular event is a once-a-year opportunity, so bird watchers and nature enthusiasts gather to the bay to witness nature in action. Meanwhile, photographers equipped with long telephoto lenses hurry to get the perfect shot before the season comes to an end.
Shenzhen’s commitment to wildlife conservation in these densely populated natural areas allows visitors to experience local wildlife without disrupting their habitats. Nature lovers from across China know to mark their calendars to witness these great birds in action.
